SPIFFS

We went to SPIFFS today for a nice little field trip. SPIFFS means 'St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society'. We were supposed to be leaving school at 10:30a.m. and returning to school at 3:30p.m. It sounded quite nice because I would miss all the classes I hate without penalty. But the thing is, SPIFFS was held at Vinoy Park downtown. Near the water. And that meant it was gonna be hot. Like 85 degrees hot. And I'm really really really fair skinned. Me and sunlight have an ongoing battle. So of course, my friends and I decided to sit right on the sea-wall the entire day. It was actually really interesting, because the dolphins decided to come right under our feet and squeak and stuff. I knew I was going to get sunburned. So I wasn't very surprised when my friend said I was turning red. It was getting worse on the bus. When I walked into my 7th period class, the room was completely dark. But once my teacher turned the lights on, I knew it was bad. Half a dozen people around me gasped. Apparently, I've turned the color of the brightest red lobster imaginable. And it hurts like hell. My arms are also red, and stiff. And they hurt. Aloe is my new best friend.
